The 11th Annual U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang will take place Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27, 2019 at The Broadmoor World Arena. The U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang was created by the 1988 U.S. Olympic Head Coach Grandmaster Sang Lee and founder of the U.S. Taekwondo Center. The Honorary Organizing Committee Chairman is Mr. Bill Hybl.
“Hanmadang” is a Korean word that translates to “festival.” The U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang features Taekwondo competition for Traditional Forms, Creative Forms with and without weapons, Board Breaking, and Demonstration Team Competition. This competition is for students of all ages and belt ranks. Athletes from age 4 to 90 and from Yellow Belt to high ranking Black Belt will travel from all over the world to Colorado Springs to compete. Approximately 1,500 athletes are expected and more than an additional 2,500 spectators will be in attendance.
