Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor

SUMMARY:  Under direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor , in a lead working capacity, to supervise and perform the activities of housekeeping staff in cleaning duties; to keep an assigned area of a facility clean and orderly; and to perform additional duties as required.   This is a working position in which the Lead Housekeeper performs in a lead capacity within housekeeping services.  To perform and direct with the activities of housekeeping staff in cleaning duties, keep facilities clean and orderly prior to, during, and after event(s) and to perform additional duties as required. To inspect work for the conformance of cleanliness. Work a varied schedule to include nights, overnights, weekends and holidays with extended work hours and extended number of days when necessary

  • Assist in hiring, training, orienting, directing and assigning departmental staff to their assigned duties.  Develops standards of performance. Attend weekly event meeting.
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, scrubbing and mopping floors; vacuuming, spot cleaning and shampooing carpets; cleaning walls, windows, mirrors, pictures, window blinds, bookcases, computer screens and water fountains; wash, dust and polish furniture, woodwork, shelves and metal work; clean and re-supply all restrooms; collect and empty all waste receptacles; clean, maintain and repair all housekeeping equipment.
  • Assist Housekeeping Supervisor in the control and management of inventory of all housekeeping supplies and equipment to include the ordering and distribution of supplies for each facility, authorizing bills for payment, researching vendors to find competitive pricing selections, maintaining adequate supply inventories during peak and off-peak seasons all while staying within the authorized budget.
  • Report all work requiring maintenance or repair to the appropriate team resource, i.e. burnt out light bulbs, furniture that is in need of repair, broken cup holders, etc. Makes recommendations to improve service and efficient operation.
  • Interface with Vendors in order to coordinate cleaning crews for after events.
  • Assists Housekeeping Supervisor to maximize the use of Front Range Community Service workers used within each facility in a housekeeping capacity.
  • Conduct pre-event inspections of all guest areas to ensure consistent and acceptable cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Primary motivator in administering housekeeping staff annual goals and achievements as demonstrated by the “lead by example” principle.
  • Implement and monitor compliance of safety guidelines. 
  • This position will be responsible for pre-event, event and post-event cleaning at the Pike Peak Center, Broadmoor World Arena and Ice Hall as assigned. During non-event days, this position will be responsible for the deep cleaning necessary for the up keep of all facilities as assigned. 
  • Have an understanding of Universal Precautions, Blood borne Pathogens and how to properly use Personal Protective equipment (PPE) that are consistent with housekeeping duties.
  • May be exposed to human waste/infectious waste.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Have a working knowledge of how to operate heavy floor care scrubbing machines and Carpet Cleaning Machines; prepare cleaning materials and solutions, including choosing proper tools and cleaning agents; work in contact with strong cleaning and disinfecting solutions; add and subtract small numbers; speak English sufficiently to communicate with Housekeeping Supervisor and fellow employees; understand and follow oral and written directions in English; follow safety precautions and procedures; plan and complete assigned duties within allotted time frames; and work independently and well with others. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Background check and pre-employment drug testing is required.  Possession of valid Colorado Driver’s License is required along with dependable transportation to and from work.

  • Many of the essential functions of this position are characterized by demanding physical work requiring such physical activities as standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Moving, handling, and transporting heavy furniture and equipment are also required. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of 25lbs.

Director of Ticketing - Full Time

SUMMARY:  The Director of Ticketing is responsible for and will oversee all aspects of ticketing for The Broadmoor World Arena Box Office. Facilities currently include the Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, The Broadmoor World Arena, and adjoining Ice Hall a designated Olympic Training Site for Figure Skating. 


  • Oversee the direction of all ticketing activities for the Broadmoor World Arena (BWA), Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts (PPC), Ice Hall, and their customers.  
  • Liaison with AXS Ticketing and their staff.
  • Creation of seating manifests for all ticketed events (reserved and general admission).
  • Create, maintain, and modify ticketed events in Veritix ticketing platform for Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center. Manage all aspects of dynamic pricing and inventory management as required by promoter.
  • Develop operational strategy to build, check, and maintain events in Veritix ticketing platform for Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with GM, Event Promoters and Marketing the execution of Fan Club, Pre-sales, and On Sales to the public.
  • Direction and oversight and fulfillment of ticketing needs for Tenants/Promoters/AXS Ticket Agency/Team Members on individual event sales, season subscription renewals, season ticket sales,  dynamic pricing, promotions, discounts, group sales, etc. (Resident Tenants –Broadway, Philharmonic, Colorado College)
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen Promoter/Tenant/Season Ticket Holders relations.
  • Building liaison to contracted Ticket Agency.  Direction and oversight and coordination of all ticketing details of events to AXS for accuracy in the accounting and selling of tickets through the network of Ticket Agency’s Box Office, Outlets, Phones, and Internet Online Sales. 
  • Timely and consistent coordination of reports and information with The Broadmoor World Arena GM, Assistant GM, Finance, Events, Marketing and building Promoters/Tenants on event ticketing setup (maps, capacities, scaling, holds, technical kills, consignments, comps, on-sales, ticket prices, dynamic pricing, discounts, ticket limits, cash advances, reporting requirements, etc.) to determine the exact needs of the event.
  • Daily sales reporting:  internal to staff, external to promoters, and to the designated trades.
  • Coordination with Marketing, Club Concierge and Group Sales on seating requests and special needs/requirements for advance sales and order fulfillment.
  • Prepare event settlements, statements, and required reports necessary for day/night-of-event settlement with building and Promoters/Tenants.  Day/Night of event ticketing problem resolution and customer service representative
  • Adhere, communicate and reinforce the policies of the Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center.
  • Personnel placement, evaluation, training, discipline, scheduling, and supervision for The Broadmoor World Arena Ticketing Management staff.
  • Direct supervision of Associate Director of Ticketing.  Indirect supervision of Box Office Manager and Box Office Ticketing Staff
  • Liaise with AXS Box Office Manager at the Pikes Peak Center on day-to-day operations.
  • Communicating with the general public for quick resolution of customer service matters involving ticketing problems, questions, or concerns from patrons of the facility.
  • Informing and coordinating any special accessible seating needs (wheelchairs, hearing enhancement devices, etc.) with the Director of Events Services.
  • Adhere to ADA compliant ticketing practices.
  • Current ticketing trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum of five to ten years proven track record with computerized ticketing systems and prior supervisory experience required, preferably in an arena and theatre setting.  Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or a similar field.  Applicant must be skilled in operating in a Microsoft works environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).  Position requires long and irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.  Applicant should be very organized and well versed in written and verbal communications. Must have ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  A demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks with a minimum of instruction and supervision is essential.  Must have strong customer service skills. Prior experience in managing a box office team.

Marketing Intern - Fall 2017

JOB TITLE: Marketing Intern

Internship Description:
The Broadmoor World Arena and the Pikes Peak Center are looking for a college junior, senior, or graduate student to serve as an intern. Both venues are managed the Colorado Springs World Arena, a local 501-c3 non-profit organization. Both are host to world class performers including CC Hockey, Alan Jackson, Huey Lewis and the News, and the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey. As an intern with our organization you will be introduced to every aspect of event marketing and have the opportunity to be involved with the process every step of the way.

This internship will be paid for Fall 2017.

Intern Objectives Include:
• Assist with / learn the planning and promotion of family shows, concerts, and arena sporting events 
• Assist with / learn day-of-event operations associated with all marketing and group sales events such as client parties, birthday parties, and corporate functions before and/or during the event.
• Assisting marketing and group sales staff with various projects involving research including conducting demographic and psychographic research for various department projects
• Learn to maintain and build the social media databases
• Grassroots marketing research and execution by going out into the community with a regular employee to represent the arena at festivals, fairs, and other events with high traffic to publicize arena and events coming to us. This will be done to flyer, poster, create relationships with various retailers, and get the word out about the arena and the upcoming shows
• Data entry for Cyber Club, e-mail database, and sales force: and assisting in ways to increase our database
• Learn to make group sales calls and Assist Group Sales Manager in researching corporations, scouts, schools, and other businesses that may be interested in group sales events.
• Help with the creation and execution of group sales plan and group sales flyers.
• Gathering event news clips for various building public relations
• Assist with various public relation functions such as: brainstorming, executing public relation events and performing all other duties assigned
• Assist in training of new intern rotations.

• Must be college junior, senior or grad student seeking an internship to satisfy a class credit requirement (housing and transportation are the student's responsibility) 
• Hours/schedule based on school's credit hour requirements; Minimum of 15 hours per week from June through August; evenings and weekends required based on event calendar 
• Summer Internship is from June through August
• Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Reader and Photoshop a plus

Parking Operations - Part Time

Job Title: Parking Operations

Reports to: Parking Operations Supervisor


This position is responsible for various guest relations and activities including but not limited to directing incoming and outgoing traffic in/out of the World Arena Parking Lots. Applicants must be friendly, outgoing and customer service oriented approaching each guest with a positive attitude and enthusiasm. Applicants must have the ability to work irregular/extended hours based on events including evening, weekend and holidays as needed. This position is required to work both indoors and outdoors including inclement weather as needed.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Positively represent the World Arena – Must be friendly, outgoing and customer service oriented approaching each guest with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Direct incoming and outgoing traffic in/out of World Arena parking lots.
  • Other duties include patrolling parking area to ensure guests and vehicles are safe, pick up and clean up designated parking areas during and at the end of each shift.
  • Must be able to work irregular/extended hours based on events including evening, weekend and holidays as needed.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Video Production - Part Time


Video Production is a part-time/hourly position in the marketing department. The position is based on need per event. Video production is primarily responsible for usage of the digital video production/control room during applicable events, which includes all control room equipment as well as the following displays systems: LED video screens, matrix boards, video walls, audio board, specialty lighting, Daktronics’ V-play, CCTV and in-house audio systems. This position will be involved in the operation and engineering support for live events to include hockey games, figure skating, other sporting events and concerts. Positions within this department include camera operator (Still and Slo-Mo) and graphics op.

- Experience in Television engineering, or an equivalent field required.
- Relevant experience in the operation, service and maintenance of video production/playback equipment, large screen video boards (CRT and LED), matrix displays, video walls, and CCTV systems required.
- Experience operating in a digital/component world as well as analog environment with the ability to integrate these systems is required.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop a plus.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends and some holidays.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with analog and digital broadcast equipment is essential.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.


Associates Degree or higher preferred, but not required.
